The alcohol spindle is suitable for rapid measurement of the alcohol content (vol%) of a liquid.
The spindle sinks in more or less deeply depending on the alcohol content/density and the alcohol content can be easily read off the scale on the surface of the liquid.
It is adjusted for the temperature of 20°C and must be corrected by means of a thermometer if necessary.
